Tarapex 2008

Tarapex 2008 will be on 7-9 November 2008 at TSB Stadium, Mason Drive, New Plymouth. This is adjacent to the Pukekura Raceway in New Plymouth. Highway 3 from the south goes past the Raceway shortly after one enters New Plymouth.

 

This exhibition, as well as being a New Zealand National Philatelic Exhibition, is for the first time in New Zealand incorporating the Australasian Challenge. This is a team competition between the exhibitors of each of the six Australian states. the ACT, and each of the North and South Islands of New Zealand. The North Island is the current holder of the Australiasian Challenge Trophy, being the first time across this side of the ditch.

 

Tarapex 2008 will have the best Australasian philatelic exhibits.

Tarapex '86

This sheet of six postage labels was produced to help fund the Tarapex '86 National Stamp Exhibition held  in New Plymouth between 17-27 October 1986.

The labels were used on pre-exhibition mailings to supporting members and sheets were sold mint and on covers for fund raising. 

The images on the labels were based on illustrations completed by A H Messenger.
